How Staying Out Late Affects Your Bedroom Life

 A study recently found that men who have inconsistent sleep have lower levels of testosterone. Testosterone is the hormone that gives us our sex drive, so it’s really important that we enjoy lots of sleep so that they can produce this hormone and enjoy a healthy libido!

Low libido

When we feel tired, fatigued and stressed, our body naturally decommissions our libido, and reality is, when we feel fatigued, our drive for sex can hit rock bottom. Low libido can then have a negative impact on our relationship and our happiness in general, so it will come as no surprise that it’s recommended that lots of sleep is recommended for a happy sex life.

Lack of sleep

Staying out late partying is one of the biggest ways that we experience lack of sleep as a young person. And once in a while (at all ages), go for it! However keep in mind that being out late partying puts a strain on the body, which ultimately leads to an all-over bodily stress, which shows up as a lack of vitality and low sex drive. This coupled with regular consumption of alcohol and drugs can catch up on us and our relationships can suffer.

If you party lots, then it’s up to you to strike a healthy balance between partying and sleeping. Partying is fun, and we all enjoy our fair share of dancing til the sun rises, but if you want a healthy sex life – a sex life that lasts the distance and is consistent – then it’s recommended that you prioritise regular sleep over regular late party nights.

Another late night situation is if you are a night shift worker, or a parent who has a baby who doesn’t sleep. If this is the case, it’s recommended that you make as many changes as possible in your life so that you can have a better sleep routine. Perhaps this means that you make time for more day sleeps, or that you change your night work routine to day shifts, or you ask for help in the night with the baby – whatever your situation, do your best to up the amount of sleep in your everyday life!
